Head of Finance, Contracts & Legal

Yuri operates in a rare intersection: commercial customers, agencies, space missions, hardware development, biotech services, international partners, regulated processes and long project timelines. We need a leader who turns this complexity into financial transparency, contract discipline, legal coordination and decision-ready reporting. You will run Finance, Contracts and Legal Operations as one integrated backbone, enabling the shareholders and leadership team to make better decisions, prepare the next financing round and scale the company responsibly.

• Own financial planning, budgeting, liquidity planning, and management reporting over all Yuri subsidiaries.
• Prepare finance structures and reporting quality for present investors and the next financing round.
• Lead and develop Finance, Accounting, Contracts and Legal Operations.
• Establish annual financial statements with external tax consultant for all Yuri subsidiaries.
• Organize monthly reporting for project control and estimate to complete loops.
• Improve cash-flow visibility, margin tracking and project profitability analysis.
• Coordinate contract review processes for customers, agencies, suppliers and partners, including hourly rates determination acc. respective regulations.
• Ensure contractual risks, milestones, payment terms, liabilities, IP topics and compliance requirements are visible and managed.
• Act as sparring partner to the CEO and shareholders on financing strategy, governance, investor materials and strategic decisions.
• Oversee external advisors including tax, legal, audit and corporate finance partners.
• Professionalize internal approval workflows, signature rules, contract archiving and compliance documentation.
• Support international structures, including interfaces with Yuri Luxembourg, Yuri USA and other future entities.

• Strong experience in finance, controlling, commercial operations, contracts or legal operations - ideally in a startup, scale-up or project-driven deep-tech environment.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, project controlling, liquidity management and investor reporting.
• Confidence in contract processes and legal coordination, including working with external tax, legal and audit advisors and translating their input into clear business decisions.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards - HGB (Germany), ideally also Luxembourg and US GAAP.
• High analytical strength and strong commercial judgement.
• Structured working style and strong team player, able to prioritise multiple tasks and deliver reliably.
• A hands-on startup mentality combined with investor-grade professionalism, willing to contribute operationally alongside your leadership responsibilities.
• Excellent English; German is a strong plus.
• Experience with grants, agency contracts, aerospace, biotech, hardware, R&D or long-term project business is a strong plus (e.g. eVergabe, easy-Online, profi-Online, AKK calculations, esa-p, PSAA calculations).
