(Senior) Space AIT Engineer (f/m/d)

YOUR MISSION:
We are seeking a candidate to join the development team responsible for working on the development of facilities to be deployed on the ISS and future space stations. Our ideal candidate must have a strong systemic understanding of the project so he can manage the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical and electrical projects. In addition to hands-on technical work, they must handle supplier management, write, and execute test procedures, and assist in mechanical and electrical design aspects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, systems knowledge, and collaboration skills.
YOUR TASKS:
  • Responsible for assembly, integration and tests of electromechanical hardware used for microgravity experiments in space.
  • Write and execute test procedures and reports.
  • Research and engage with external test facilities and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the production and testing of 3D-printed components.
  • Partially responsible for organizing laboratory tools, parts, and components.
  • Support for requirement management and verification.
  • Contribute to systems definition and design decisions.
  • Support definition/conducting analyses for thermal and structural loads of space experiments in all mission phases (transport, launch, on orbit, return).
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best performance for the overall system.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Experience in Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) of space systems - The higher the experience, the better.
  • Familiarity with space standards, especially ECSS and SSP.
  • Understanding of documentation relevant to AIT during all phases of a project.
  • Not afraid of using tools (hammer, drill, file, milling machine…) for small adjustments.
  • Skilled in using MS Office.
  • Strong team player.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Comfortable taking on responsibility.
  • Practical mindset with a focus on execution.
  • Low ego and empathetic toward colleagues.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of Solid Works or similar is a plus.
  • Proficiency in German is a plus.

ARBEITEN BEI YURI BEDEUTET:
DEINE MISSION:

Wir suchen dich für unser Entwicklungsteam, das Anlagen entwickelt, die auf der ISS und zukünftigen Raumstationen eingesetzt werden.

Du bringst ein ausgeprägtes systemisches Verständnis für das Projekt mit und koordinierst die Montage, Integration und Erprobung mechanischer und elektrischer Systeme. Neben praktischer technischer Arbeit übernimmst du auch das Lieferantenmanagement, erstellst und führst Testprozeduren durch und unterstützt bei mechanischen und elektrischen Konstruktionsaufgaben.

Für diese Position brauchst du eine Kombination aus technischer Expertise, Systemverständnis sowie ausgeprägten Team- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten.

DEINE AUFGAEN:

  • Verantwortung für die Montage, Integration und Tests elektromechanischer Hardware für Mikrogravitations­experimente im Weltraum.

  • Erstellung und Durchführung von Testprozeduren sowie Verfassen von Testberichten.

  • Recherche und Zusammenarbeit mit externen Testeinrichtungen und Lieferanten.

  • Verantwortung für die Herstellung und Prüfung von 3D-gedruckten Komponenten.

  • Teilweise Verantwortung für die Organisation von Laborwerkzeugen, Teilen und Komponenten.

  • Unterstützung beim Anforderungsmanagement und bei der Verifikation.

  • Mitarbeit an der Systemdefinition und an Designentscheidungen.

  • Unterstützung bei der Definition und Durchführung von Analysen für thermische und strukturelle Lasten von Weltraumexperimenten in allen Missionsphasen (Transport, Start, Orbit, Rückkehr).

  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit einem multidisziplinären Team, um die bestmögliche Gesamtleistung des Systems zu erreichen.

DAS BRINGST DU MIT:


  • Erfahrung in Assembly, Integration und Testing (AIT) von Raumfahrtsystemen - Je mehr Erfahrung, desto besser.

  • Vertrautheit mit Raumfahrtstandards, insbesondere ECSS und SSP.

  • Verständnis der für AIT relevanten Dokumentation über alle Projektphasen hinweg.

  • Keine Scheu vor dem Einsatz von Werkzeugen (Hammer, Bohrmaschine, Feile, Fräsmaschine …) für kleinere Anpassungen.

  • Sicherer Umgang mit MS Office.

  • Ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit.

  • Selbstmotiviert und proaktiv.

  • Bereitschaft, Verantwortung zu übernehmen.

  • Praktische Denkweise mit Fokus auf Umsetzung.

  • Geringes Ego und empathischer Umgang mit Kolleg:innen.

  • Fließende Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

  • Kenntnisse in SolidWorks oder vergleichbarer Software sind von Vorteil.

  • Deutschkenntnisse sind ein Plus.
